Power to the Pudge

Description

Right, quite simply, I’m going to say this. Curves and softness on a girl? They’re beautiful. And what I’m sick of seeing, what saddens me, is girls absolutely pulling themselves to pieces simply because they’ve got a little pudge on their tummy, or they’re anything larger than a size 8. Is there anything wrong with being a size 8? Not really. But it’s not some sort of godly ideal that all girls should aspire to be. You’d think it was though, what with society banging on the way it does, and it’s fanatical obsession with weight is what’s unhealthy, not simply being a size 12 or above.

Every day, in the magazines, on the internet, in the newspapers, on the television, we are bombarded with ads for weight loss, effectively brainwashing the lot of us into fitting the perfect little weight mould. And those who are outside of it just get ostracised, mocked, and hated on for no good reason. It’s just another form of bigotry, and it makes me sick. Heck, I’m the opposite myself. I’m a lanky, pale, effeminate stick, and people hate on me because I’m not enough of a ‘man’. I don’t care what they think, because I am me, and I have learned to embrace who I am. I love girls, and I like my pretty long hair, so screw 'em.

People often say that ‘fat’ girls are repulsive. ‘Why?’, I ask. What exactly makes them repulsive? Have they ever actually THOUGHT about what they are saying, what they are feeling? Because maybe, just maybe, deep down inside, they don’t actually hate it at all, but they only think they do because society’s anti-fat bombardment has tricked them to such a degree they can’t even tell the damn difference. Look at the past, when curvier ladies were celebrated, and heck, curvier ladies are still celebrated in some countries today. Why do we now seem to ‘instinctively’ hate fat then, when we didn’t before? Strange, isn’t it? Just think about it.

Me, personally? I think that some pudge on the tummy is gorgeous. To me, it’s cute, and pretty, and sexy, and feminine. And a girl shouldn’t be sitting there alone in the corner crying her heart out because she feels ugly and rejected just because she’s a little chubby, or heck, of average weight, or even larger weight! So I made this stamp so girls could feel proud of themselves, and people could use it as a badge of honour in the face of oppression. And I said these words, in the hope of opening people’s minds more, and showing my support for fighting against this ridiculous social stigma.

Power to the Pudge. =)

Any body type is a-okay (unless of course one happens to be overweight or anorexic).
I'm thin and i'm proud of it.
My dog's fat and he's proud of it.
